If I remember correctly, there are seats that allow you to see the boat parade and yes reservations would be needed.

Sorry didn't eat buffet style. Their prices are very reasonable and food is delicious.

Our small family reunion had reservations for the big table but that didn't stop them from giving that table away to someone else. I'd say make the reservation and hope for a better experience.
